About this role

Archer Western Construction, LLC is seeking a Carpenter for the Central Water Group/South Mesquite RWWTP BID#12 in Mesquite, Texas. The role involves constructing, erecting, and installing structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines on commercial, industrial, or heavy civil jobsites.

Carpenters measure distances and mark guidelines on working surfaces to prepare layouts. They build and install wooden structures aligned with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and more, while assisting with awnings or metal decking for concrete slabs when needed.

Employees use a carpenter’s belt with hand tools, power tools, and machinery on dynamic jobsites. The team works on infrastructure projects where you live, supported by co-workers and supervisors to complete builds properly in various conditions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years verifiable experience preferred
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold or ladder
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Good manual dexterity; able to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Measure distances and mark guidelines on working surfaces to prepare for laying down work
  • Prepare, build, and install wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
  • Assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs if decking is removed
  • Use carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
  • Construct, erect, and install structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials
