About this role

This role oversees construction execution, quality assurance, and turnover of non-store real estate projects including corporate offices, production facilities, distribution centers, and warehouses. The Facilities Construction Project Manager I ensures all projects meet company specifications and prototype standards.

Day-to-day work involves conducting regular on-site visits to monitor construction progress and workmanship quality. Inspections cover structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finish trades to identify deficiencies before they become embedded in the project.

The position collaborates closely with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Supply Chain, Production, IT Facilities, and Physical Security. Attending Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and leading pre-turnover walks ensures every department's requirements are delivered to standard.

This role owns the turnover process from construction completion through operational handoff, guaranteeing the facility is ready for its intended use on day one. It offers the opportunity to drive quality across critical infrastructure projects within a respected brand.

Requirements

  • Experience overseeing construction of commercial, industrial, or production facilities.
  • Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finish trade work and ability to inspect for quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and Basis of Design documents.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies and non-conforming work during site inspections.
  • Familiarity with punch list development, turnover, and closeout processes.
  • Experience coordinating with general contractors, architects, and internal stakeholder teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to track action items, maintain project schedules, and document resolution of quality concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular and thorough site visits to monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to approved documents and company specifications.
  • Inspect all active construction work including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finish trades to identify deficiencies and non-conforming work.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager to document and resolve construction quality concerns in real time.
  • Lead pre-turnover and final turnover walks with all internal stakeholders to verify that every requirement has been delivered to standard.
  • Own the punch list development, tracking, and resolution process, ensuring all items are resolved prior to facility acceptance.
  • Attend and actively participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, pre-construction meetings, and regular project progress meetings, tracking action items and monitoring schedule milestones.
