About this role

A skilled Carpenter Journeyman reports to the Foreman and specializes in high-level millwork. This includes woodwork, casework, and ornamental metalwork in construction projects. The role demands precision and expertise in intricate installations.

Daily duties involve installation of AWW, PL + Metal casework, fume hoods, DFH, and miscellaneous specialties. Preplan tools needed, materials, and installation techniques for the fastest and safest way possible. Efficiency and safety guide every task performed.

Adhere to the ISEC Safety Program and Safety Promise while performing jobs safely. Report hazards, use Stop Work Authority, and contribute to a positive work environment. Cooperation enhances personal and coworker safety on site.

Work with minimal supervision in a structured team under the Foreman. Focus on high-quality millwork contributes to project success. Opportunities arise through skilled execution in architectural installations.

Requirements

  • High School Education or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience as a finished carpenter
  • Union member where applicable
  • Experience in casework, plastic laminate, and architectural millwork
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Supply personal tools
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Physically able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands and arms to reach, handle, and manipulate objects, see well, and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Install AWW, PL + Metal casework, fume hoods, DFH, and miscellaneous specialties
  • Preplan tools needed, materials, and installation techniques for the fastest and safest methods
  • Follow and participate in the ISEC Safety Program and adhere to the ISEC Safety Promise
  • Perform jobs in the safest manner and never put self in harm’s way
  • Report workplace hazards and make suggestions for their control
  • Use Stop Work Authority and respect Stop Work Authority on job
  • Cooperate and contribute toward the overall success of the safety program
  • Report all injuries and incidents as soon as possible
