About this role

Cardo Group is a leading provider of building maintenance and improvement services to social housing providers and public bodies across the UK. With over 1,000 colleagues, we deliver retrofit and energy efficiency upgrades, responsive repairs, voids, and disrepair including damp & mould. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to construct and repair walls, buildings, chimneys, and structures using bricks and concrete blocks.

The role involves measuring and marking surfaces, mixing mortar, laying bricks in rows, patterns, or designs, and cutting materials to fit around openings. Use hand and power tools to shape bricks while repairing existing structures. Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times to ensure quality work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and materials
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Measure and mark surfaces to be covered with bricks or other materials
  • Mix mortar and spread it onto surfaces to be covered
  • Lay bricks or other materials in rows, patterns, or designs
  • Cut or trim bricks and other materials to fit around windows, doors, and other openings
  • Use hand and power tools to cut and shape bricks and other materials
  • Repair and maintain existing brick structures
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
