About this role
Performs repair, renovation, modification, and maintenance of buildings and allied structures. Repairs and replaces walls, doors, partitions, counters, window frames, and more. Handles demolition, salvage work, and basic renovation of offices and work areas.
Removes existing walls, frames new walls, cuts window and door areas, and installs new doors and windows. Installs drywall, insulation, paneling, new ceiling grids, ceiling panels, floor tiles, and trim molding. Constructs, planes, drills, sands, assembles, glues, and finishes various wood items like tables, chairs, cabinets, and shelves.
Proactively seeks to understand customer needs and provides high standards of service. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and ethical behaviors to build trust. Collaborates through trust and diverse ideas to achieve organizational goals via teamwork.
Operates table saws, drill presses, power tools, and maintains records using a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Performs some masonry, roofing, sheet metal work, and repairs mechanical doors and locks. Takes ownership for continuous improvement in operations.
Requirements
- Proficient in carpentry techniques for remodeling, repair, and maintenance
- Skilled in constructing and finishing wood items like cabinets, doors, and shelves
- Experienced hanging, finishing, and repairing sheetrock
- Ability to operate table saws, drill presses, jointers, and other power tools
- Knowledge of selecting and cutting wood to dimensions with hand and power tools
- Capable of basic masonry, roofing, sheet metal, and mechanical door repairs

Responsibilities
- Performs carpentry work in the remodeling, repair, and maintenance of buildings
- Constructs, planes, drills, sands, assembles, glues and finishes tables, chairs, benches, cabinets, sashes, doors, bookcases, shelves, and molding trim
- Hangs and finishes new sheetrock and repairs existing sheetrock
- Builds bookcases, chests, lockers, cabinets, concrete forms and shelves
- Operates table saws, drill presses, planners, jointers, wood lathes, pneumatic nail guns, and maintains tools
- Performs some masonry, roofing and sheet metal work; repairs mechanical doors and locks
- Selects appropriate wood and cuts to proper dimensions using standard hand or power tools
- Maintains time, material, and related work records using a Computerized Maintenance Management System
