About this role

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our growing team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract in Tower Hamlets. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on delivering a wide range of bricklaying duties within occupied social housing properties. Someone who takes pride in their craft, works efficiently, and delivers high-quality results.

Duties include building new brick walls, restoring damaged brickwork, and repairing cracks to prevent further damage. Tasks also cover rendering full walls, mixing mortar, cutting bricks with hand or power tools, and repointing for structural integrity. Additional work involves reading plans, setting out courses, and installing damp-proofing.

Work alongside other trades to coordinate site activities in social housing environments. Maintain tools, ensure safe practices, clean areas, and adhere to health and safety regulations. A professional approach supports strong customer service in occupied properties.

Requirements

  • Experienced in bricklaying and confident in carrying out all listed duties
  • Previous experience working within social housing environments
  • Strong customer service skills, with a professional and respectful approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work with other trades to coordinate site activities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations on-site
  • Skilled in setting out and levelling courses for accurate alignment

  • Building new brick walls

  • Mixing and applying mortar or adhesives to bind bricks and blocks
  • Cutting bricks or blocks to size using hand or power tools

  • Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
