About this role

Lane Valente, a national maintenance and construction firm, is recruiting skilled Journeyman Carpenters willing to travel for full-time commercial construction projects across the United States. Tradespersons must be proficient in carpentry including partition framing with metal/wood studs, installation of basic cabinetry/countertops, doors and windows. They handle painting interior and exterior, plus flooring installation of VCT, LVT, tile, carpet squares and cove base.

Day-to-day work involves commercial renovations and buildouts, with basic knowledge of plumbing for replacement/installation of sinks, faucets, toilets, drainage and water lines. Electrical tasks include replacement/installation of light fixtures, switches, outlets, basic data connections and diagnosing minor problems. Licensed plumbers and electricians are encouraged to apply for these roles.

Team members work in customer-facing environments, requiring presentable appearance and ability to communicate to build relationships. They follow OSHA requirements, maintain detailed records including measurements, pictures, recommendations for repairs and quotes. Basic computer skills support reporting and project needs.

Growth opportunities include company-paid OSHA 10hr training within three months of employment, further education and training. Willingness to work overtime, on-call, overnight shifts and travel nationwide is essential. Benefits feature company-paid travel and per diem for projects.

Requirements

  • Proficient in carpentry, partition framing metal/wood studs, cabinetry/countertops, doors/windows
  • Proficient in interior/exterior painting
  • Proficient in flooring installation: VCT, LVT, tile, carpet squares, cove base
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing: sinks, faucets, toilets, drainage, water lines
  • Basic knowledge of electrical: light fixtures, switches, outlets, data connections, minor diagnostics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow OSHA requirements
  • Willing to supply basic construction hand tools and travel nationwide

Responsibilities

  • Perform commercial renovations and buildouts
  • Frame partitions using metal/wood studs
  • Install basic cabinetry, countertops, doors and windows
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces
  • Install flooring including VCT, LVT, tile, carpet squares and cove base
  • Replace/install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets and toilets
  • Handle basic electrical work on light fixtures, switches, outlets and data connections
  • Travel nationwide for projects and work overnight shifts as needed
