About this role

Join Ground Control as a Plant Operator and combine plant operating skills with hands-on arboriculture work. Play a key role delivering Arboricultural and vegetation management projects across rail, highways, utilities, and infrastructure environments. This varied role involves operating specialist machinery while supporting project delivery to the highest standards.

Operate a range of plant and machinery safely across multiple work environments each day. Carry out daily plant inspections, report defects, and assist with scoping of works and operational input into planning. Work in line with RAMS, risk assessments, and site-specific instructions while maintaining machinery and yard facilities.

Work alongside experienced operators, arborists, and industry specialists in a supportive, safety-first culture. Liaise with colleagues, subcontractors, and haulage providers to ensure smooth project delivery on rail, highways, utilities, and construction sites. No two days are the same in this role with direct impact on project success.
