Comprehend drawings to prepare layouts by selecting materials, planning sequences, and measuring accurately to avoid mistakes. Build concrete forms using traditional and engineered systems. Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and correctly sized.

Work on projects including full-scale contract mining, earthworks, foundations, highways, bridges, and pipelines. Requirements

  • Journeyperson Carpenter ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must have 4+ years’ experience
  • Apprentice Carpenters (levels 1-4) must be registered with a provincial training authority
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid government ID
  • Project online orientations must be completed

Responsibilities

  • Comprehend drawings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials
  • Understand concrete forming and engineered forming systems to accurately build concrete forms
  • Apply skills with traditional and engineered forming systems
  • Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location
  • Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines following high standards for safety and quality
