About this role

Perform general carpentry to construct, repair, and maintain structures, equipment, partitions, doors, windows, and other parts of facilities. Assist with general maintenance activities as directed. This role supports essential building trades functions in healthcare environments.

Day-to-day tasks include building new partitions and structures while repairing existing doors, windows, and equipment. Travel to multiple locations ensures comprehensive facility upkeep across sites. Precision in carpentry maintains safe and functional spaces for staff and patients.

Join a maintenance team requiring ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrate teamwork through effective role modeling and professional public interactions. Handle confidential information with discretion in a courteous manner.

Build on two to three years of building trades experience with preferred healthcare background. Enhance skills in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, and woodworking. Develop strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities in a dynamic facilities setting.

Requirements

  • High school education with additional vocational school education in blueprint reading, or equivalent related experience
  • Current New York state driver’s license free of violations consistent with FLH policy
  • Two to three years of recent experience in the building trades
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations on any given day as requested
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
