Provide field health, safety and environmental management support to achieve optimum performance across the Corporation.

Interpret legislation and corporate policy to develop line of business approaches for safety and environmental matters. Conduct incident and accident investigations to deliver long-term trend predictions and assessments to senior managers. Research and adapt worldwide studies for corporate application.

Supervise staff in environment, health and safety field functions while advising line of business management on compliance and regulatory items. Manage budgets, approve expenses, and handle human resource issues including hiring and performance. Provide leadership to meet targets and quality objectives.

Support the Manager in operating the HSE management system through consulting, assessments, and corrective actions. Administer programs including education, performance data analysis, and audits. Monitor regulations, legislation, and policies to ensure corporate compliance.

Develop policies, procedures, standards and specifications to protect employees, the public and the environment. Champion HSE initiatives by influencing direction and promoting adoption. Contribute to HSE processes enabling business progress in a competitive environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and corporate policies
  • Experience in incident and accident investigation and trend analysis
  • Supervisory experience managing HSE staff and budgets
  • Ability to interpret legislation and develop safety and environmental approaches
  • Skills in conducting compliance checks, audits and corrective actions
  • Proficiency in providing HSE consulting and advisory services to management
  • Capability to research and adapt worldwide HSE studies for corporate use

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, organize and assign work to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Support the Manager in operating the HSE management system with quarterly objectives and assessments
  • Administer environmental, health, and safety programs including education, data analysis and audits
  • Monitor specific regulations, legislation and corporate policies in health, safety and environment
  • Develop policies, procedures, standards and specifications to protect employees, public and environment
