Requirements
- Proficiency in bricklaying and masonry techniques
- Knowledge of refractory materials for steel industry applications
- Ability to interpret construction blueprints and drawings
- Physical stamina to lift heavy bricks and work at heights
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and tools
- Skill in mixing mortar and using trowels, levels, and plumb bobs
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and refractory materials to construct and repair steel mill structures
- Mix and apply mortar or binding agents for secure installations
- Read blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate brickwork
- Cut and shape bricks using masonry saws and tools
- Repair damaged masonry in furnaces and high-temperature areas
- Maintain structural integrity in industrial construction projects
- Follow safety protocols during bricklaying operations
