About this role
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the resources associated with delivering a wide range of Infrastructure Projects and Capital Works on the existing waste water network across the North West for client United Utilities. You will plan, manage and supervise operational teams and supply chain partners as they carry out schemes. You will provide operational leadership ensuring delivery safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.
Health and Safety along with customer service are critical to the client. Customer satisfaction is measured through the regulatory C-MeX measure. You will demonstrate leadership to care about customer ratings of Network Plus’s Non-Core services.
You will communicate with customers impacted by the work as required. You will work closely with design, delivery and commercial teams to ensure the Non-Core programme is delivered safely to the right quality, on programme and to the client’s budget. Site-based presence involves regular visits to local teams.
Organise resources including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors cost-effectively. Manage Health and Safety compliance through checks, inspections, briefings and audits while developing teams. Serve as Health & Safety Representative investigating incidents and raising matters with management.
Requirements
- Experience of working in the Utilities sector and ideally on waste water and Capital works
- Competence, knowledge and experience in deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and waste water based schemes
- Competence, knowledge and experience in Street Works and Confined Spaces
- Health & Safety qualification an advantage
- Awareness of costs and programme awareness
- Good team management and communication skills
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Project preferable
- Full UK Driving Licence
Responsibilities
- Provide operational supervisory responsibility for waste water projects on the Non-Core Programme and daily site activities
- Remain site-based and regularly visit teams reviewing progress, performance and ensuring standards are adhered to at all times
- Organise all resources for schemes including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors in the most cost-effective way
- Manage compliance to Health and Safety procedures on site including weekly checks, inspections, team briefings and audits
- Support teams to develop them and reach their full potential
- Deliver weekly reporting of sites to management team and client through meetings and calls updating on progress, planning and issues
- Act as Health & Safety Representative undertaking inspections, raising health and safety matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents
