About this role

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator for the night shift in Hopewell. This role supports safe and efficient loading and packaging of dry ice products in attentive alignment with quality control standards. The schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotation.

Daily tasks include loading, weighing, and packaging dry ice into blocks, pellets, and slices based on customer orders. You will operate production machinery and material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently. Accurate logging of production numbers and shipping manifests is required.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percent.
  • One year of experience in a production/manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support daily loading, weighing, and packaging of dry ice products into various containers (blocks, pellets, slices) based on customer orders.
  • Ensure all finished products meet the company's high quality standards regarding weight, density, and packaging integrity.
  • Operate production machinery and material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately log production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility to foster a safe working environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and attentive alignment with quality control standards.
