About this role
This role involves receiving, unloading, preparing, and loading liquid and dry chemical products from trucks, tankers, and railcars. The work is physical and requires attention to detail, including maneuvering transfer hoses, climbing tanks to monitor loads, and inspecting equipment before and after operations.
Day-to-day tasks include verifying product against shipping documents, sampling and quality control with lab personnel, and maintaining accurate logs of received or distributed product. Operators also pick and stage product for delivery, operate powered industrial trucks with certification, and move raw materials to production areas.
This position works closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure safe and efficient material handling. The environment emphasizes safety participation, regular training, and adherence to company policies and hazardous waste regulations.

Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances, and stand or walk for up to 95% of the day
- Must be able to operate standing and sit-down forklifts and pass company physical and all training requirements
- Capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment, which may include a respirator
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check, and pass E-verify check
- Must be capable of attaining a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card for participating MTSA facilities
- Good safety and attendance record, and willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Ability to work any days of the week on any assigned 8-12 hour shift
- Must be able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary and perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, prepare, and load liquid and dry chemical products from trucks, tankers, and railcars
- Maneuver and connect or disconnect transfer hoses, and climb tanks to open or close top hatches and monitor loads
- Inspect tanks, tankers, and railcars before and after loading or unloading operations
- Verify product against receiving and shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages
- Operate powered and manual industrial lift trucks with certification to transport product in the warehouse
- Sample product, perform quality control with lab personnel, and repackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment
- Maintain accurate receiving and shipping logs, record amounts via computer program, and assist in counting physical inventory
- Participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings, and report and clean up spills immediately
