About this role

This Construction Manager role requires acquiring and applying Perry Homes construction procedures for the Phase II process, from sheetrock tape and float to home completion, while performing warranty service according to company procedures.

Day-to-day tasks include coordinating independent contractors over multiple jobsites, ordering construction materials, and monitoring the quantity and quality of materials and completed tasks to ensure company standards.

Success depends on managing time under construction, construction supervision, direct overhead costs, budget variances, and change orders. You will report to the Project Manager, Vice President of Construction, or Division President.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Requires relevant management or leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively and professionally with independent contractors and homeowners, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to complete tasks on short notice under extreme time constraints and handle multiple concurrent tasks
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, reports, correspondence, blueprints, construction plans, plats, and development plans
  • Demonstrated computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fundamental knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations, plus current valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and truck that complies with construction policies
