About this role

In technical construction supervision, you are responsible for the professional, efficient, and safe execution of works on a section of major HGÜ transmission line projects under construction. This role ensures high standards in infrastructure development for the energy transition.

50Hertz builds HGÜ power lines to transport electricity from northern wind farms to southern consumers. You join the construction supervision team to implement these large-scale projects, coordinating with specialists across various trades.

Day-to-day involves steering external supervision in earthworks, road building, cable trenching, and civil engineering. You manage interfaces between internal teams and external providers, enforce safety, and oversee schedules and quality alongside service providers.

This environment allows continuous development of your expertise in major infrastructure project supervision with specialists. Deployment occurs at construction site offices near Gera, Halle/Leipzig, or Magdeburg about four days per week.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Civil Engineering, Geosciences, Geotechnics, Industrial Engineering or comparable
  • At least five years relevant professional experience in major projects
  • Good knowledge in site management or construction supervision for civil engineering, road and earthworks, tunnel construction, HDD drilling, or cable pulling
  • Experience in quality control and defect management in large infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with coordinating multiple construction trades including tunneling and cable installation

Responsibilities

  • Steer, control, and supervise external construction supervision in major projects for earthworks, road construction, cable trenching, and civil engineering
  • Ensure quality in construction execution together with 50Hertz service providers
  • Act as interface between internal project organization and external construction supervision
  • Coordinate HGÜ cable and deep foundation trades, tunneling, and HDD drilling with archaeological services, ordnance disposal, and others
  • Timely obtain and prepare technical decisions during the realization phase
  • Integrate and coordinate external service providers
  • Enforce occupational safety and health protection
  • Monitor construction schedules, defect management, and assess additional costs or change orders after review
