About this role

Clean Harbors Project Services Group is seeking a Site Safety Officer to join our team. The Site Safety Officer is primarily responsible for supporting project sites and assisting with H&S program implementation and improvements. Must be open and flexible to travel at any type of cadence, likely 6 weeks on project followed by 1 week off.

Provide safety related guidance to proposal, field, and management teams while assisting in the development of HASPs, JHAs, and other required safety documents. Develop and manage safety related communications and updates. Support project sites with H&S program execution across remediation, environmental construction, and waste management projects.

Join a team dedicated to safely executing large technical remediation, environmental construction, transportation and disposal projects nationally and internationally. Work with a diverse customer base across regulatory, government, and military sectors. Collaborate with industry professionals across sales, landfill, incineration, transportation, TSDF, and local office networks.

Work and learn under the guidance of Health & Safety professionals while serving on the Safety Committee to guide policy and procedure. Assist with onboarding new employees and H&S admin functions like training and incident reporting. Leverage opportunities for growth with company paid training and tuition reimbursement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree or safety certificate preferred
  • 5+ years of direct field management/safety experience in lieu of degree
  • Background of H&S in an industrial environment or dirt work preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable MVR required
  • Proficient with computers, web navigation, MS Suite, Adobe Acrobat preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
  • Ability to follow company policy on facial hair and getting fit for a respirator as needed
