About this role
Gray Construction seeks a Site Manager I, MEP for its Field Operations Team. This field/project-based role assists the MEP Project Manager in key areas like subcontractor evaluation and project scheduling. Daily tasks include reviewing drawings such as P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural when issued to the field. Coordinate on-site activities from pre-start-up to completion, schedule subcontractors, and track productivity. Manage procurement of tools, materials, and equipment to meet work schedules.
Work closely with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to interpret specifications and prevent delays. Serve as on-site Safety Officer, enforce Gray’s safety program, and maintain high safety and quality standards. Participate in the company’s QMS program for continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Ability to review and coordinate construction drawings such as P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, and Structural
- Experience assisting in MEP project scheduling, estimation, and trade coordination throughout the build process
- Knowledge of subcontractor selection, negotiation, and scope development
- Proficiency in on-site safety management and serving as Safety Officer
- Familiarity with procurement, materials sourcing, and equipment needs for construction schedules
- Skill in preparing cost-to-complete reports, monthly billings, and status updates
- Understanding of QMS programs for generating reports and traceability
Responsibilities
- Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Develop scopes of work for review and approval by MEP Project Manager
- Develop MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule and prepare estimates for self-performed work
- Review all drawings including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, and Structural, maintaining current sets
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion
- Schedule work including subcontractors and assist in productivity and quantity tracking
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer and enforce Gray’s safety program
- Prepare reports on progress, materials used, costs, and adjust work schedules as needed
