VEA Telecoms is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable SHEQ Advisor to support operations across multiple sites and projects, which may involve national coverage at times. As a SHEQ Advisor, champion Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards across the organisation. Conduct audits and site inspections to verify compliance with legislation, policies, and industry standards. Guide management on best practices while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Work across diverse projects in a supportive environment focused on protecting individuals and the company. Enforce adherence to relevant legislation and promote continuous improvement. Engage staff at all levels through training and awareness programmes.
Influence safety and quality outcomes on varied projects with career development pathways. Stay up-to-date with legislative changes and evolving best practices. Help shape a safer future while supporting ISO management systems.
Requirements
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (essential)
- Proven experience in site audits, inspections, and SHEQ advisory roles
- Working knowledge of CDM2015 (Principal Contractor), Working at Height legislation, and Streetworks regulations
- ISO Procedures an advantage
- Strong report writing, communication, and advisory skills
- Ability to influence and engage staff at all organisational levels
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation
- Advise management on relevant legislation and SHEQ best practices
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Assist in monitoring SHEQ performance, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
- Deliver training and awareness programmes to staff across the business
- Maintain and support ISO management systems
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and compliance
