Pratt & Whitney is working to transform the future of flight, designing, building and servicing engines unlike any seen. We have immediate need for a Carpenter/Painter 2nd Shift onsite from 2:00pm–10:30pm. Bring passion and commitment to a tight-knit team that takes the mission personally.

Perform work to fabricate and finish structures, platforms and products for factory and office applications. Plan and layout work to install, maintain and repair structures using standard methods. Coat and cover with finishing materials to blend and match finishes.

Work with others to prepare work sites, obtain materials, prefabricate components and carry out finishing operations. Assist other trades on joint projects for shared responsibilities and effective skill use. Carry out duties throughout the facility under Leader/Supervisor direction.

Make decisions on joining methods, repair approaches and finishing material selection. Read drawings and use mathematics, principally geometry, for layout. Exercise judgment in planning task sequences to fit specific requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2-5 years of Carpentry experience including cabinet making, painting, joinery, woodworking methods, layout techniques, finishing
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to read drawings and use geometry applicable to layout work
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools for working with lumber and finishing materials
  • Experience planning and performing fabrication under diverse conditions
