ASRC Federal is a leading government contractor furthering missions in space, public health, and defense as an Alaska Native owned corporation. The Journeyman Carpenter performs skilled carpentry, structural maintenance, and facility repair in support of a base-wide maintenance contract at JBER. This temporary full-time position ensures safe, functional, and mission-ready facilities until 08/24/2026.

Perform construction, maintenance, and repair of structural systems including walls, doors, roofs, floors, ceilings, partitions, and frameworks. Install, repair, or replace building components such as drywall, insulation, siding, trim, cabinetry, windows, and hardware. Conduct finish carpentry including millwork, casework, and detailed woodworking tasks.

Execute rough carpentry such as forms, framing, sheathing, and structural reinforcement. Coordinate with other trades like electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing for multi-discipline tasks. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and equipment while maintaining clean, secure work areas per OSHA and base requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum five years’ experience working as a carpenter
  • Active Journeyman Carpenter certification
  • US Citizen with valid REAL ID or U.S. Passport
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and perform repairs
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and squat, lift, sit, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to pass company background check and motor vehicle record review

  • Inspect and diagnose structural issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on facility structures per contract and base standards
  • Perform emergency repairs to maintain facility safety and operability
  • Coordinate with other trades in support of multi-discipline maintenance tasks
