About this role

Archer Western de Moya JV, a member of The Walsh Group, is currently seeking a Carpenter for the Miami Signature Bridge in Miami, FL. The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. This uses carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines on commercial, industrial, or heavy civil jobsites.

Carpenters measure distances, mark guidelines, and prepare surfaces for layout work daily. They build and install wooden structures aligned with prefabricated units to form bridges, drainage structures, walls, and more. Assistance with awnings or metal decking for concrete slabs occurs as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Verifiable Experience Preferred
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Good manual dexterity; stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work
  • Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
  • Assists with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs if decking is removed
  • Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
  • Erects formwork for concrete pours on heavy civil projects
  • Dismantles temporary wooden structures after use
  • Maintains tools and equipment for efficient jobsite operations
