Weston Solutions is looking for Safety Professionals to support construction and environmental programs. The Construction Safety Officer serves as a technical resource with experience in OSHA, USACOE, EPA, and industry standards. This field position requires extensive travel and acts as a liaison between Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients.

Serve as the onsite Site Health & Safety Officer for USACE civil, HTRW, and other projects. Establish excellent relationships with clients, representatives, and field teams. Work with the Superintendent to deliver effective daily safety talks relevant to activities.

Generate and maintain project documentation including Daily Reports, Safety Audits, and Training records. Ensure personnel have required safety training, medical surveillance, and equipment. Provide effective coaching on health and safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or nondegree candidate plus minimum of 5 years continuous construction safety experience with USACE EM385-1-1
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and virtual meetings
  • Experience performing in a safety role such as Safety Officer or Coordinator
  • Direct experience supporting high risk work including excavation, scaffolding, confined space, fall protection, LOTO, crane lifts
  • Experience in environmental investigations, remediation, or HTRW projects
  • Working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1 and familiarity with Accident Prevention Plans and Site Safety & Health Plans
  • OSHA Construction Safety 30 hr training within last 5 years
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER and 8 Hour HAZWOPER site supervisor training

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite team Site Health & Safety Officer for USACE projects
  • Establish excellent working relationships with clients, representatives, and field teams
  • Deliver effective daily safety talks with the Superintendent utilizing relevant content
  • Generate and ensure all project documentation including Daily Reports, Safety Audits, and Training records is maintained onsite
  • Ensure all personnel have appropriate safety training, medical surveillance, and equipment
  • Implement project specific Health and Safety Programs day-to-day
  • Act as liaison between Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Provide effective coaching regarding safety practices
