About this role

The Safety Officer implements and enforces workplace health and safety policies compliant with Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) guidelines. This role ensures all employees, contractors, and new hires understand emergency procedures, hazard communication, and risk mitigation protocols through structured programs.

Daily responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of facilities, equipment, and procedures to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. The officer manages incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective plans to prevent recurrences effectively.

Fire and emergency preparedness is maintained via regular drills for fire, earthquakes, and evacuations, aligning with local government unit requirements. Safety equipment like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and PPE is inspected for compliance and replenished timely per Philippine standards.

Health and safety communications are developed through posters, emails, and digital channels to build a proactive safety culture. Coordination occurs with in-house safety committees and external agencies for aligned practices and community initiatives.

Ergonomics assessments and wellness programs are promoted to prevent injuries in office and remote settings, while ensuring ongoing compliance with DOLE, Bureau of Fire Protection, and regulatory bodies through permits and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • BOSH - Basic Occupational Safety and Health
  • First Aid Training, BLS, AED
  • 40 hours additional safety-related trainings

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce workplace health and safety policies in compliance with OSHS and DOLE guidelines
  • Facilitate safety trainings and orientations, including BOSH, First Aid certifications for employees, contractors, and new hires
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Oversee incident documentation, reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
  • Maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular fire drills, earthquake drills, and evacuation simulations
  • Inspect and monitor safety equipment including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and PPE for compliance and replenishment
  • Disseminate safety updates, awareness programs, and bulletins via posters, emails, and digital channels
  • Ensure compliance with DOLE, BFP, and regulatory bodies by handling permits, licenses, and reports
