You are a proactive and detail-oriented HSE professional with experience supporting health, safety and environmental risk management in complex environments. You bring a strong understanding of contractor, construction and maintenance-related risks, confident working in live operational settings where safety and compliance are critical. Your knowledge ensures safe outcomes across projects and activities.
Apply sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and best practice to support effective risk mitigation and governance processes. Identify hazards, assess risks and contribute to practical, fit-for-purpose solutions. Manage competing priorities in dynamic university campus environments.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across diverse functions, including contractors, project teams and operational staff. Communicate clearly and effectively, providing guidance to ensure safe work practices are understood and followed. Foster collaboration in a client-focused team.
Join Property Services in RMIT's Operations Portfolio, overseeing a $2.9B property portfolio with $80M+ operating budget and $100M+ annual capital projects. Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practice systems for managing health and safety of employees, building users and contractors
- Excellent communication skills including ability to influence, negotiate outcomes and drive change
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, analyse, conceptualise and provide creative solutions to complex projects and issues
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders and key professionals
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and co-operatively as a member of a client-focused team
- Proven ability to develop clear and concise written communications including reports and proposals
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills with multiple parties
