About this role
This position supports the Transmission Project Development team with single point accountability, reporting to the Director. It manages all phases of project planning and execution to meet success factors like scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. The role may be filled as Project Manager I or II based on candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Project Managers serve as unifying agents providing leadership, decision making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of overall projects. They handle various project types and complexity levels in accordance with company policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. Daily work involves guiding teams through initiation to handoff to project execution.
Create, staff, and lead project teams while interfacing with organizations like Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction Management, and others. Establish communications among stakeholders, lead meetings, and report project status per PMCoE standards. Coordinate matrixed team members and resolve conflicts with functional leaders.

Requirements
- Experience managing transmission project development phases
- Knowledge of project success factors including scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and environmental compliance
- Skills in leading matrixed teams across engineering, construction, supply chain, and regulatory functions
- Ability to develop and communicate project plans per PMCoE standards
- Proficiency in project controls, estimating, procurement, and risk management for utility projects
- Familiarity with transmission-specific integration, security, and stakeholder engagement processes
- Decision-making capabilities for complex projects in energy infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Create, staff, and lead project teams with leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination
- Establish and maintain communications among project stakeholders and management
- Structure, lead, or assist in project-related meetings and prepare status reports
- Plan assigned projects including scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, estimating, and procurement strategies
- Champion project planning processes such as work definition, schedule formation, vendor selection, and integration
- Execute projects according to approved scope, cost, schedule, risk, quality, safety, and environmental plans
- Guide matrixed team members daily and interface with functional leaders for placement and conflict resolution
- Ensure projects progress from initiate gate to handoff to project execution
