A carpenter reads blueprints, constructs and repairs frameworks for walls, floors, doors, and windows. They install fixtures including doors, cabinets, drywall, and trim, while performing drywall finishing. Additional tasks include assisting with basic electrical, plumbing, and concrete work using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades while maintaining a clean and organized job site. Requirements

  • Proven experience as a carpenter or construction worker
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods
  • Working knowledge of drywall installation and finishing
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
  • Knowledge of construction safety protocols and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Construct frameworks such as walls, floors, and door/window frames
  • Install structures and fixtures including doors, cabinets, drywall, and trim
  • Perform drywall installation, finishing, and repairs as needed
  • Assist with basic electrical and plumbing tasks when required
  • Support concrete work including forming, pouring, and finishing
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
