About this role
Dominion Energy manages solar projects from 1MW to 150+MW through EPC contracts. The Solar Project Construction group includes teams like Development, Diligence, Pre-Construction, Execution, and Close-Out. This role oversees infrared thermography scanning and visual inspections of DC collection systems during commissioning.
Support IR scanning campaigns by leading project kick-off meetings, ensuring site conditions, performing equipment audits, and verifying third-party reports. Manage the Owners IR scanning Non-Conformance Report log and Corrective Actions program. Participate in Approved Vendor List discussions based on scanning data.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Site Owner’s Representatives, Operations, Environmental, and Safety teams. Work with external parties like third-party IR vendors, OEM, and EPC Quality departments. Collaborate in a cross-functional team with scanning vendors, contractor Quality Managers, DE site teams, safety specialists, and Owners Thermography Level III.
Join status update meetings with EPC contractors and DE site teams. Review third-party reports to monitor component risks related to Plant Health and Safety. Contribute to a purpose-driven company that values safety, collaboration, and clean energy careers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in managing complex and high-impact projects in the same or related domain
- Experience with infrared scanning and similar inspection method processes, equipment, reporting, and analysis
- Familiarity with FLIR equipment and software
- Detailed technical knowledge of renewable power generation, large power plant systems, DC power distribution systems and/or complex construction projects
- Technical skills, including the ability to read and prepare technical specifications and electrical drawings
- Strong understanding of thermography principles, Level II thermography preferred
- Strong communication and integration skills
- Valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle
Responsibilities
- Lead the Project Kick-off meeting to explain the process and reporting requirements
- Ensure proper site conditions are understood and met during thermal anomaly detection
- Perform IR equipment and process audits in the field
- Verify third party IR scanning reports for accuracy
- Participate in Approved Vendor List discussions based on IR scanning data for specific solar components
- Manage an Owners IR scanning Non-Conformance Report log and associated Corrective Actions program
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Site Owner’s Representatives, Operations, Environmental, and Safety
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including third party IR scanning vendors, OEM, and EPC Quality departments
