The Engineering Project Manager role involves planning, executing, and overseeing projects so that they are completed on time, within budget, while meeting all quality standards and health and safety requirements. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope, set objectives, allocate resources, and develop detailed project plans.

The role monitors progress, manages risks and change, resolves challenges, and communicates with stakeholders to provide regular updates. It focuses on further developing essential project management techniques and an understanding of the company's product/services while managing small projects.

The role collaborates with team members on larger or moderately complex projects. Working under clearly defined guidelines and supervision, it leads small projects so that each one is completed within the set scope, schedule and budget.

Project team leadership includes setting direction, communicating effectively, supporting team motivation, establishing trust, and embracing thought and experience diversity across backgrounds and perspectives.

Requirements

  • Experience managing small projects within defined scope, schedule and budget under supervision
  • Ability to monitor progress, manage risks and change, and resolve challenges on projects
  • Skill in collaborating with cross-functional teams to define scope and allocate resources
  • Understanding of quality management plans, processes and standards review

Responsibilities

  • Set direction by supporting definition of objectives, decision-making processes, schedules, budgets and success factors for assignments
  • Help establish effective communication methods for team standups, technical decisions, and client interactions
  • Assist in empowering team members, resolving conflicts, providing feedback and celebrating successes
  • Demonstrate integrity, competence, consistency, loyalty, and transparency to establish trust
  • Support an environment where diverse backgrounds, geographies, and perspectives are heard, respected and considered
  • Collaborate and prepare detailed scopes of work with clear assumptions, limitations and expectations
  • Collaborate on development and maintenance of project schedules and recommend schedule delay mitigation measures
  • Develop work breakdown structures and project budgets aligned with scope and schedule to meet planned performance metrics
