About this role

We are supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons across England and Wales. The General Handy Person plays an important part in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

You will perform general maintenance tasks and assist tradespeople on site while taking on various FM duties as directed by the team manager. The role requires maintaining high health and safety standards across the contract at all times.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team in a secure prison environment and contribute to local and business zero carbon initiatives. This work supports strategic progress toward sustainability goals on a long-term stable contract.

Requirements

Solid experience in DIY and general building maintenance
CITB relevant certification or equivalent
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work well in a team

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance tasks and assist tradespeople on site
Carry out various FM duties as directed by the team manager
Maintain high health and safety standards across the contract
