About this role

The Carpenter - Maintenance works alone or with other crewmembers on all facets of general maintenance and construction. Operates various types of machinery. Work may be assigned in accordance with crewmember’s strongest work background.

Responsible for completion of general maintenance work orders daily. Inspects, designs, fabricates, constructs, repairs, replaces, and maintains structural elements within District buildings including walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, gutters, downspouts, cabinets, and doors. Assists with inspections for punch lists, preventive maintenance, and repairs.

Maintains District vehicles, tools, equipment, and stock of supplies. Documents work daily on the work order system. Shares on-call duties for the department and assists in snow removal as requested.

Operates core drill and concrete saw for concrete and asphalt, as well as forms, pours, and finishes concrete. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Reports to Facility Operations Manager or designee.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
  • Four (4) years of professional general maintenance work experience, including specialty trades
  • Colorado driver’s license
  • Meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
  • Experience inspecting, designing, fabricating, constructing, repairing structural elements like walls, roofs, doors, windows
  • Knowledge of ADA-related items and modifications
  • Ability to operate core drill, concrete saw, and related machinery

Responsibilities

  • Complete general maintenance work orders
  • Inspect, design, fabricate, construct, repair, replace, and maintain structural elements including walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, gutters, downspouts, cabinets, millwork, doors, windows, glazing, bleachers, lockers, and ADA-related items
  • Maintain shop equipment, District vehicles, tools, and stock of supplies
  • Maintain daily documentation on work order system
  • Assist in snow removal duties as requested
  • Share on-call duties for department
  • Operate core drill and concrete saw for concrete and asphalt, as well as forms, pours, and finishes concrete
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
