We’re excited to welcome a Senior Cost Manager to join our Irvine team, seeking candidates located in Southern California. This flexible, hybrid opportunity provides a key role on the cost management team. Responsibilities include leading comprehensive estimating efforts, overseeing quality control, and clearly communicating cost strategies to clients and A/E consultants.

Facilitate document control, file management, and project collaboration while adhering to QA/QC procedures.
Mentor, train, and oversee a small team of cost estimators while participating in business development initiatives. Actively research and solicit sources to maintain accurate cost information. Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years as a cost manager/estimating professional, preferably as a consultant, including conceptual estimating, take-offs, change order review/reconciliation, value engineering, risk mitigation and management
- Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents at all levels of design (drawings, specifications)
- Proficient user of On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software or similar quantity takeoff software
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Well-rounded project experience, including public works, municipalities, port of entry, K-12, higher ed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture, or 5 years minimum of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree, preferred
Responsibilities
- Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates with the values of OCMI
- Explain cost deliverables, processes, and justifications in formal meetings, presentations, or negotiations as the lead representative
- Provide detailed quantity take-off and preliminary pricing for a variety of construction project types
- Review and interpret construction drawings to understand the overall project scope
- Support development of comprehensive cost estimates/models communicating the client’s project and strategic goals
- Ensure a quality product is presented to the client by adhering to QA/QC procedures
- Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors to compile and maintain accurate cost information
- Mentor, train, and oversee a small team of cost estimators
