About this role

Serve as WSU's Construction Manager with Facilities Services, overseeing the work of consultants, contractors, and WSU staff. Develop and manage budgets while directing construction activities for multiple minor capital projects. Ensure proper inspection of projects delivered through Public Works bids or by WSU shops.

Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to staff on construction initiatives. Execute projects efficiently, safely, and in alignment with university standards. Manage day-to-day operations to maintain quality and compliance across all activities.

Join the Facilities Services team in a full-time, permanent role at 100% FTE. Collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders in higher education settings. Contribute to capital projects supporting university infrastructure needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited institution and two years related experience with demonstrated competence
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible construction related experience in lieu of degree and experience requirement
  • Valid driver’s license by time of hire and meet WSU SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards
  • Experience in higher education, public works, and/or General Construction/Construction Management contracting (preferred)
  • Experience communicating with diverse constituencies (preferred)
  • Knowledgeable of construction computer applications (preferred)
