Wind Carpenter

Mortenson, a top builder and EPC in renewable energy, seeks a Wind Carpenter for the Highland Repower Wind Project in Primghar, IA. Responsible for construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures per local building codes and general construction principles. Builders at heart, ensuring the built environment has lasting positive impact.

Daily tasks include setting up trailers, studying blueprints and sketches for material needs, and measuring dimensions. Build decks, stairs, roofs, temporary structures, install shelves, and set up tool trailers or conexes. Follow erosion control plans with silt fences and straw bales.

Hand-set forms, assemble gang forms, and assist journeymen and foremen with shooting grades and elevations. Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials. Perform concrete and rough carpentry including walls, footings, structural decks, drywall, finish work, millwork, and cabinetry.
