About this role

Supervise civil, structural, and carpentry maintenance within the hotel to maintain safety, aesthetics, and compliance with standards. Oversee daily tasks including building structures, finishes, and wooden furniture. Ensure proper functionality of hardware, joinery, and guest room conditions.

Conduct inspections to identify defects and manage corrective actions for structural issues. Implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) for civil and carpentry works, including scheduled inspections and record maintenance. Monitor the Maintenance Request System for timely work order completion, prioritizing urgent guest repairs.

Supervise technicians with briefings, training, and encouragement of teamwork and multi-skilling. Maintain workshop tools, monitor material stock, and ensure proper housekeeping. Coordinate furniture refurbishment or replacements as needed.

Support minor renovation and repair projects by supervising contractors and ensuring quality compliance. Follow safety procedures, regulations, and maintain safe working conditions and equipment. Gain exposure to hotel engineering operations through hands-on leadership in a hospitality environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, civil works, or carpentry, preferably in hotel, commercial building, or hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and carpentry works
  • Understanding of construction materials and finishing techniques
  • Ability to read basic construction drawings
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems
  • Knowledge of hotel engineering operations
  • Safety awareness and compliance with building regulations
  • Ability to coordinate contractors and repair vendors
