About this role
The Construction Manager ensures progress of new restaurant franchise projects from site selection to opening. Provides guidance and support to franchisees, manages outside vendors, validates cost and quality, and reports status to internal partners. Collaborates with real estate, design, procurement, operations, and technology teams.
Directs multiple construction projects including planning, budgeting, FF&E, execution, vendor selection and management, quality control, and resource management. Acts as company liaison to franchisees, contractors, and vendors to maintain schedules and accountability. Tracks project timelines using Inspire Brands development systems.
Supports franchisees with project costs, LL Work Letter, LOI obligations, and risk assessments. Ensures adherence to brand-specific design and construction standards through proactive issue identification. Communicates with Operations, Real Estate, Architecture, IT, and Construction Support teams.
Participates in brand leadership meetings, franchising discussions, and construction SIP meetings for updates and milestones. Handles special projects with department and brand leadership. Works remotely in the Western US market.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred
- 5-10 years’ experience in general construction (non-residential) and construction project management
- 10 years of experience in restaurant/retail construction management in a franchise organization preferred
- Experienced in project management (construction)
- Detailed knowledge of supporting technology, budgeting, estimating, scheduling
Responsibilities
- Direct and lead multiple construction projects: project management, planning, budgeting, FF&E, execution, vendor selection/management, quality control, resource management
- Act as company liaison to franchisees, contractors, and vendors to keep them on schedule and hold accountable
- Provide guidance and support to franchisees on project specific costs, LL Work Letter, and LOI obligations
- Manage all project schedules by tracking based on defined timelines and updating Inspire Brands development tracking systems
- Ensure quality control and adherence to brand specific design and construction standards
- Participate in brand leadership team meetings with Operations, Franchising, and Real Estate
- Participate in construction SIP meetings to ensure up-to-date data and milestone achievement
- Handle special projects assigned by department leadership
