About this role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Construction Manager for a fast-paced environment in Turin. The role involves a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic on national and international construction projects. It is available on an extended-fixed term basis.

The Construction Manager ensures quality of works complies with project design and specifications while aligning construction activities with planning. Responsibilities include liaising with customers, authorities, contractors, partners, and subcontractors for site and materials takeover or handover. Optimization of internal and external resources follows project budget and planning baselines.

Work in a fully integrated global provider of rail solutions across rolling stock, signaling, service, maintenance, digital technology, and turnkey projects. Support continuous updating and improvement of processes and procedures. Develop site-specific plans integrated into project programs and budgets in agreement with the Construction Manager. Ensure materials availability on site per working schedules agreed with customers and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Up to 5 years experience on Site Activities, site workforce management, Site technical control and coordination
  • Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Office Package
  • Experience and fluency in technical drawing and reporting
  • Knowledge of Signalling, Power Supply and Traction Power Technology Systems
  • Health, Safety and Environment knowledge
  • Driving license valid in Sweden, availability to drive
  • Open to travel/long term assignment to national/foreign Construction Projects

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of the works complies with project design and specifications
  • Ensure compliance of construction activities with the construction planning
  • Liaise with Customers, Authorities, Contractors, Partners, Subcontractors for site and/or materials takeover and/or handover
  • Ensure compliance on site with HSE Management plan rules for works under responsibility
  • Ensure optimization of resources (internal and external/subcontractors) on site based on project budget and planning
  • Develop site specific plans to implement in projects program and budget in agreement with Construction Manager
  • Ensure continuous updating and improvement of processes and procedures
  • Support the Construction Manager to ensure material availability on site per Working Schedule with Customer and Subcontractors
