About this role

Robertson Facilities Management provides hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. The Commercial Manager role offers effective and proactive commercial support to the RFM business, including Contract and Operational Teams, Project Teams, Business Development and Bid Team, and the wider Commercial and Lifecycle team. This aligns with business needs and the business plan across commercial, residential, education and healthcare sectors.

Day-to-day involves supporting creation, development and operation of commercial reporting, governance and related activities, especially leading on CCS Framework contracts. Provide first line commercial support to Operational teams, resolving contractual queries, owning Commercial Variations processes and aiding Finance processes for payments and invoicing. Work with Regional Commercial Managers on early risk or opportunity identification and mitigation.

Operate as the first line commercial resource for CCS Contracts and English regional business. Manage and update regional commercial risk and opportunity registers while driving commercial performance through continual improvement reviews. Support regional contract teams on Defects, Deductions, Paymech, Performance obligations and reporting, attending Operational meetings as commercial representative.

Own the Contract Compliance Review process, including audits, improvement plans and monitoring. Deliver commercial improvement across Operations and Finance, supporting projects and procurement to optimise RFM performance. Deputise for the Regional Commercial Manager at regional meetings and escalate risks appropriately for business resilience.

Requirements

  • Understanding of PFI and commercial contracts in facilities management
  • Knowledge of CCS Framework contracts and related governance
  • Experience resolving contractual and commercial queries in operational FM environments
  • Familiarity with commercial variations processes and internal governance procedures
  • Proficiency in finance processes, applications for payment and invoicing within construction contracts
  • Ability to manage commercial risk and opportunity registers
  • Commercial acumen for FM sectors including commercial, residential, education and healthcare
  • Skills in conducting contract compliance audits and health checks

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line commercial support to Operational teams on CCS Framework Contracts, including resolution of contractual queries and ownership of Commercial Variations processes
  • Work with Regional Commercial Managers on early identification of risk or opportunity and support mitigation or resolution
  • Own the Contract Compliance Review process, including developing and carrying out audits, improvement plans and monitoring
  • Manage and update the regional commercial risk and opportunity registers
  • Drive commercial performance by reviewing areas for improvement across the business and at project level
  • Support regional contract teams in application of contracts, focusing on Defects, Deductions, Paymech, Performance obligations and reporting
  • Support all contracts on commercial improvement activity and undertake contract compliance and commercial health check reviews
