An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Agent to join the Sizewell C team in Leiston, Suffolk. The role requires a Civil Engineering background with previous experience in earthworks, drainage, communication ducts and pavement construction, preferably within a highways environment.

The Site Agent manages a varied team constructing general civil engineering work packages. Strong visible proactive leadership is required on health, safety, environment and quality standards in a high profile Tier 1 setting.

Daily work includes establishing site systems and controls, producing risk assessments and method statements, and leading short-term planning. Resource requirements and production outputs must be monitored while securing materials and plant to meet the programme.

The position offers the chance to contribute to value engineering and buildability on a major infrastructure project. Staff and frontline workers health and wellbeing are supported within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Civil Engineering background with previous experience in earthworks, drainage, communication ducts and pavement construction
Experience with construction of all elements of highways works
Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM Regulations
Ability to work under own initiative with a can-do attitude
Assertive team leader able to work under pressure and build collaborative relationships

Responsibilities

Provide strong visible proactive leadership on health, safety, environment and quality standards
Establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with company standards and project requirements
Ensure production and communication of risk assessments and method statements to site supervision
Contribute to value engineering and buildability of the project with Planner and production personnel
Lead short-term planning and dissemination of programmes to the site team and supply chain
Organise resources for overall control and execution of the works including selection of sub-contractors
Secure materials and plant necessary to meet specifications and manage wastage and allowances
Identify temporary works requirements and manage production of detailed temporary works designs
