About this role

As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the resources associated with delivering a wide range of Infrastructure Projects and Capital Works on the existing waste water network across the North West for United Utilities. You will plan, manage and supervise operational teams and supply chain partners. Deliver work safely, on time, within budget and to client expectations.

You will be site based and regularly visit teams at local site level, reviewing progress and performance while ensuring all standards are adhered to. Organise all resources for schemes, including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors, in the most cost-effective way. Manage compliance to Health and Safety procedures through weekly checks, inspections, team briefings and audits.

Customer service is critical to the client, measured through C-MeX; work closely with the client to influence this measure and show leadership in caring about customer ratings of Network Plus’s Non-Core services. Communicate with customers impacted by work as required. Collaborate with design, delivery and commercial teams for safe, quality delivery on programme and to budget.

Provide operational leadership, develop teams and support them in reaching full potential. Act as Health & Safety Representative, undertaking inspections, raising matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents. Deliver weekly reporting to management and client on progress, planning and issues.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in the Utilities sector and ideally on waste water and Capital works
  • Competence, knowledge and experience in deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and waste water based schemes
  • Competence, knowledge and experience in Street Works and Confined Spaces
  • Health & Safety qualification an advantage
  • Awareness of costs and programme
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Project preferable
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

  • Regularly visit sites to review progress, performance and ensure standards adherence
  • Organise resources including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors cost-effectively
  • Manage Health and Safety compliance through weekly checks, inspections, briefings and audits
  • Provide weekly reporting to management team and client on progress, planning and issues
  • Act as Health & Safety Representative, conducting inspections and investigating incidents
