The Senior Estimator provides estimating services and expertise for renewable market sector, utility solar and contract delivery methods.

Prepare, plan, organize, and evaluate estimates while engaged in the Target Value Design process to submit bids and responses to proposals. Coordinate and oversee internal and external estimating resources in a collaborative and integrated project delivery environment. Foster success through a One Boldt approach while returning planned profit to the company.

Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to establish scope of work. Perform takeoffs for self-performed trades including Concrete, Masonry, Steel, Carpentry, Drywall and Millwright work using OnCenter and BIM tools. Manage bid solicitation, evaluations, and relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Experience performing takeoffs for Self-Performed Trades including Concrete, Masonry, Steel, Carpentry, Drywall and Millwright work
  • Proficiency with OnCenter for estimating takeoffs
  • Knowledge of BIM generated quantification and Coordinates requirements
  • Preferred experience using Vico for BIM generated takeoff
  • Ability to establish and confirm union labor costs for projects
  • Familiarity with Target Value Design process
  • Skills in managing bid solicitation process and Instructions to Bidders

Responsibilities

  • Perform estimating activities for projects, large and small, both in negotiated and hard bid
  • Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to establish scope of work contents for estimate
  • Prepare detailed as well as conceptual estimates, including scoping with self-perform, bid lists of subcontractors, trade partners and suppliers
  • Perform takeoffs required for estimates using OnCenter and BIM generated quantification; Vico preferred
  • Complete the bidding process including bid solicitation, bidders’ communications, proposals evaluations, and bid evaluation
  • Provide technical support and guidance to estimating staff in preparing estimates for all projects
  • Develop and maintain client, design partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and external customer relationships
