For inspectors, work involves field inspection, daily reports, quantity tracking, reading plans and specs, coordinating with contractors and labs, and tracking materials testing. Construction managers lead teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, run meetings, oversee submittals and RFIs, and support proposals. Both roles emphasize constructability and biddability reviews.

Requirements

  • Strong public works and public agency experience
  • Familiar with materials testing (soils, concrete, asphalt)
  • Able to read plans and understand construction sequencing
  • Certifications such as ACI, ICC, IMSA, ATTSA, NASSCO a plus
  • OSHA 30 or ability to obtain
  • Comfortable using project management software
  • Experience delivering projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Ability to oversee inspectors and perform inspections

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspection on active construction projects
  • Prepare daily reports, quantity tracking, and documentation of work performed
  • Read and interpret plans, specs, and special provisions
  • Coordinate with contractors, labs, and the project team
  • Track materials testing and understand results
  • Assist with submittals, RFIs, and basic project documentation
  • Lead project teams and work directly with the client
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and overall project delivery
