About this role

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our growing team, supporting a busy Void contract in Leeds. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on delivering a wide range of bricklaying duties within occupied social housing properties. Take pride in your craft, work efficiently, and consistently deliver high-quality results.

Duties include building new brick walls, restoring damaged or deteriorated brickwork, and identifying cracks or fractures to prevent further damage. Mix and apply mortar, cut bricks to size, and construct foundations or retaining walls. Repoint brickwork and render full walls to maintain structural integrity and safety.

Work with other trades to coordinate site activities in social housing environments. Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintain tools, and clean work areas responsibly. Strong customer service skills ensure a professional and respectful approach with residents.

Requirements

  • Experienced in bricklaying and confident in carrying out all listed duties
  • Previous experience working within social housing environments
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and respectful approach
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations on-site
  • Aged over 21, licence held over 3 months, less than 9 points for company vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Build new brick walls
  • Restore damaged or deteriorated brickwork
  • Identify and repair cracks or fractures in walls to prevent further damage
  • Render full walls
  • Mix and apply mortar or adhesives to bind bricks and blocks
  • Cut bricks or blocks to size using hand or power tools
  • Construct foundations, retaining walls, and other structural elements
  • Repoint brickwork to improve appearance and structural integrity
