We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of federal construction projects at VA medical facilities. The role ensures adherence to budget, schedule, quality, and federal regulations.

Day-to-day involves providing project management and construction-phase oversight for Non-Recurring Maintenance infrastructure projects. Control and monitor project schedule and budget while recommending adjustments for milestones and cost efficiency. Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve risks related to delays or cost growth.

Coordinate with stakeholders including owners, medical staff, A/E firms, and contractors to represent Government interests. Facilitate, manage, and document project meetings with clear communication and action items. Oversee construction administration processes like RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and as-built documentation.

Maintain thorough project documentation for issue resolution and dispute management. Prepare comprehensive Project Management Plans covering communication, schedule, quality, and risk. Provide regular reporting including weekly status updates, cost reviews, and schedule analyses in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in construction administration and project management for facilities projects
  • Strong knowledge of schedule management, cost control, and construction documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders)
  • Ability to coordinate with stakeholders including owners, medical staff, A/E firms, and contractors
  • Working knowledge of construction codes, safety standards, and healthcare facility requirements
  • Ability to review schedules, pay applications, and cost proposals for accuracy and compliance
  • Eligible to obtain VA background clearance and PIV credentials; ability to meet required training and onsite work conditions

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and construction-phase oversight for Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) infrastructure projects at VA medical facilities
  • Represent the Government’s interests by coordinating stakeholders and ensuring alignment with project objectives and VA standards
  • Manage all professional and technical services associated with design and construction delivery
  • Control and monitor project schedule and budget, recommending adjustments to maintain critical milestones and cost efficiency
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve risks related to delays, cost growth, or potential claims
  • Facilitate, manage, and document project meetings, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up on action items
  • Oversee construction administration processes, including management of RFIs, correspondence, and project documentation
  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive Project Management Plan, including communication, schedule, quality, and risk management components
