The Senior Project Manager - M&E oversees MEP scopes on ICI projects as the GC’s technical authority.

This role involves planning, coordinating, and ensuring MEP work integrates with architectural and structural elements. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for risks, leading coordination meetings, and monitoring field installations for compliance. Trade contractors are managed to resolve technical challenges and support commissioning.

Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams on complex building systems. Coordinate sequencing with overall schedules, enforce safety, and participate in inspections and AHJ reviews. Collaboration drives safe, on-schedule delivery within budget.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Building Systems, or a related field
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in MEP coordination or management on ICI projects
  • Proven experience working for or with a General Contractor
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards including OBC, CSA, NFPA, and ASHRAE
  • Experience with MEP budgeting, cost planning, procurement strategies, and subcontractor tendering
  • Strong ability to manage trade contractors and resolve technical challenges in MEP systems

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify MEP scope, risks, and coordination requirements
  • Participate in design development, constructability reviews, and value engineering initiatives
  • Lead MEP coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams
  • Ensure MEP installations align with architectural, structural, and life-safety requirements
  • Track MEP progress against the master schedule and short-interval plans
  • Review and validate MEP subcontractor progress claims and change requests
  • Enforce quality control standards for all MEP systems and installations
  • Promote and enforce site safety requirements in coordination with the project team and subcontractors
