Develop project budgets, schedules, and ensure adherence while coordinating with design professionals, construction teams, real estate, and others. Maintain communication to address delays or budget issues proactively. Verify contractor payments, monitor inspections, and handle public relations with neighbors and agencies.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years construction management experience in a major chain or multiple location organization for General Contractor or Owner's Representative
  • Experience overseeing ground up retail and/or commercial construction with significant site work
  • Demonstrated experience with full array of heavy construction combined with new and renovation projects
  • Strong project accounting skills, including budget development, cost monitoring, and contract management
  • Experience working in a major corporate environment
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide site analysis and recommendations to real estate department and site acquisition personnel
  • Lead due diligence activities, including review of surveys, soils, and environmental reports
  • Supervise design/engineering consultants from initial due diligence through site plan approval and construction
  • Develop and prepare project budgets and cost estimates, ensuring projects stay within budget
  • Develop schedules and maintain targeted completion dates, managing milestones and resources
  • Verify accuracy of General Contractor's monthly applications for payment and provide approval
  • Monitor inspections or corrections required by governing agencies
  • Coordinate final acceptance, inspection, and scheduling of occupancy
