ROWE Professional Services Company, an employee-owned full-service consulting firm specializing in civil engineering, surveying, aerial mapping, LIDAR, landscape architecture, planning and land development, seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager & Business Development Leader. This entrepreneurial-minded professional will drive long-term growth of ROWE’s South Carolina market, working closely with executive leadership to expand business presence and develop client relationships. Initial focus is on business development and growth strategies in a hybrid position based out of Charleston, SC.

The role involves identifying and establishing strategic office locations in South Carolina and nearby states, leading local business development to grow the client base, and expanding services. Professionals will attend workshops, meetings, and marketing events like SCDOT, ACEC, and ASCE to secure future work for small and large-scale projects. Cross-discipline collaboration at South Carolina offices will be key to success.

Day-to-day duties include preparing successful proposals, overseeing project selection, directing engineering tasks with quality control, and ensuring project deliverables. Maintain project documentation, oversee budgets, manage teams, schedules, and staff assignments. Provide direction, supervision, and training to junior staff while mentoring on project scopes, budgets, and staffing plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • South Carolina Professional Engineer License
  • 15+ years of civil site or municipal design experience, including 5+ years as a Project Manager/Business Development Manager
  • Experience in site and road design; hydraulic analysis; sanitary sewer and water main design; preparing permits; and bid book and specification development
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation capabilities
  • Compassionate and enthusiastic leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytically minded
  • Willingness to travel throughout South Carolina

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with executive leadership to identify and establish strategic office locations in South Carolina and nearby states
  • Lead business development locally to grow client base and expand services
  • Lead cross-discipline collaboration at South Carolina office(s)
  • Attend professional workshops, meetings and marketing events (SCDOT, ACEC, ASCE)
  • Identify and develop strategies to secure future work for small and large-scale projects
  • Prepare successful proposals and oversee project selection
  • Direct engineering tasks, providing quality control and ensuring project deliverables
  • Oversee project budgets, manage project teams, schedules and staff assignments
