About this role

The Construction Commercial Manager provides guidance and oversight to the Cost Control Lead and Schedule Lead for integrated project delivery aligned with commercial and scheduling objectives. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on contract administration as senior advisor and operational lead on NEC and FIDIC matters. It ensures compliance with framework agreements and Work Orders while supporting project teams.

Day-to-day involves administering NEC and FIDIC contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, and payment applications. Prepare formal contractual communications, maintain early warning registers, and review compensation event quotations with recommendations. Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and lead improvement plans.

Lead and manage Cost Managers and Schedulers, fostering collaboration and high performance standards. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in contract practices. Support procurement teams in drafting, negotiation, and award processes using systems like CEMAR and Unifier.

This position offers opportunities to develop contract management strategies across the Dublin Airport Capital Delivery portfolio. Uphold governance frameworks, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes for major infrastructure projects. Build long-term relationships while advancing team development and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in contract management, with mandatory experience on NEC and FIDIC contracts
  • People management experience
  • Proven track record in managing infrastructure contracts and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Extensive experience in contractor and consultant performance management
  • Strong background in claims management, dispute resolution, and commercial negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement contract management strategies
  • Clear understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications
  • Strong experience of delivering technically complex and high value infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement contract management strategies and operational plans across the Dublin Airport Capital Delivery portfolio
  • Lead and manage Cost Managers and Schedulers, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective coordination
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and governance frameworks, reporting non-compliance to senior leadership
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters, including risk mitigation, dispute resolution, and claims management
  • Administer NEC and FIDIC contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, and payment applications
  • Maintain and update the early warning register and administer the early warning process
  • Monitor contractor and consultant performance against KPIs and Incentive Schedules, leading evaluations and improvement plans
  • Ensure effective use of contract management systems such as CEMAR and Unifier
