About this role

An amazing opportunity to develop your skillset and build your career awaits in the carpenter apprenticeship program. Reliable, energetic, and passionate production workers will report to the Lead Carpenter. Assist in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard conforming to local building codes.

Build house frameworks, walls, roofs, exterior and interior finishes daily. Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles. Read and interpret drawings while selecting materials and planning work sequences to avoid mistakes.

Cut and shape materials, joining them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue. Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and correctly sized. Work accurately and economically in an indoor manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Actively registered Apprentice Carpenter 1st & 2nd year
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
  • Capacity to lift heavy equipment and materials when required

Responsibilities

  • Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
  • Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
  • Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
  • Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue
  • Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location
  • Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
